Fitness trackers and apps are used by millions but a new meta study looks at their effectiveness

If you are the kind of person (and aren’t most of us?) who meticulously checks your Fitbit to make sure you are hitting your daily goal of steps then you need to ask yourself is it helping you to lose weight?

As this article points out, a recent University of Florida meta-study says that reviews of six studies covering over 1600 subjects found that only one study showed a strong connection to weight loss.
